Box for licensed costumes of characters from the 1977 film.

The box was later used for some Empire Strikes Back costumes with the sequel’s logo stickered over the top.

Design Notes:

The illustration has elements of the “Style B” film poster art by Hildebrandt, but it’s most likely based on the cover of Marvel’s Special Edition comic book (link) that was published in August of 1977.

Some printings had dark blue Star Wars logos with stars overlayed on the side panels.
