Box for the licensed Incredible Hulk costume.

Although Ben Cooper had made versions of a Hulk costume since the mid-’60s, this was the first box dedicated to the character, most likely to capitalize on the live-action television show that debuted in 1977.

Design Notes:

This is one of three boxes to depict someone wearing the actual costume, styled much like the illustrations found in the company’s catalogs and advertising materials.

The illustration is based on Dave Cockrum’s cover art for issue #206 of Marvel’s The Incredible Hulk comic (link). The same pose appeared on marketing, and promotional material for at least a decade.
