Even though the focus of this site is primarily costume boxes, I couldn’t resist remaking the packaging art for these Fun Ponchos.
Ben Cooper released several versions of monster ponchos in the 70s and 80s but the 1977 Dracula, and 1979 Frankenstein packages had the best artwork. Frankenstein has a particularly good Frank Romano illustration.
The hooded ponchos came with matching eye masks which were replaced with larger “topper” masks in the mid-80s when they were rebranded as “Costume Ponchos”.
I made a printable version of the masks that you can cut out and make at home if you’re feeling crafty!
